Josephine was born in 1992 in Tavistock, Devon, where she lived for the first six years of her life. She now lives in North Somerset, and attends Bristol Grammar School.

Josephine started singing seriously at the age of eight, and has been competing in local festivals for both singing and acting ever since. From the age of 11 she has been studying singing with Miriam Bowen, vocal tutor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She passed Grade 8 with distinction in 2007 and was awarded her ABRSM Diploma in Performance with Distinction in September 2008.

During the last year Josephine has had two solo recital concerts at All Saint’s Church, Clifton and the Barrow Gurney Festival and has been the soprano soloist with Portishead Choral Society and Bristol Cabot Choir. She was named Singer of the Year at the National Rotary Multi-district Young Musician Competition in May 2009.

In 2008 Josephine was one of the four winners of the Two Moors Young Musician Platform Competition. During the winner’s concert in Ashburton, Devon, she was presented to HRH the Countess of Wessex and was interviewed by Classic FM’s Anne-Marie Minhall.

Josephine sings as a Choral apprentice with Bristol Choral Society, she also plays the piano and is embarking on her second year of A level studies.
