Josephine was born in 1992 in Tavistock, Devon, where she lived for the first six years of her life. She now lives in North Somerset, and attends Bristol Grammar School.

Josephine started singing seriously at the age of eight, and has been competing in local festivals for both singing and acting ever since. From the age of 11 she has been studying singing with Miriam Bowen, vocal tutor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She passed Grade 8 with distinction in 2007 and was awarded her ABRSM Diploma in Performance with Distinction in September 2008.

During the last year Josephine has been the soprano soloist with several choirs including Bristol Choral Society, Nailsea Choral Society and Bristol Chamber Choir and she has performed in concerts with the Bristol-based Stilig string quartet.

In July 2007 Josephine was one of the youngest singers chosen to perform in Stravinsky's opera The Rake's Progress with the Welsh National Youth Opera Company and in December 2007 she sang the role of Dido in Bristol Grammar School's production of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas.

Josephine sings as a Choral apprentice with Bristol Choral Society, she also plays the piano, studies acting and has just embarked on A level courses in English Literature, History, French and Music.
